Policy Manager at Crown Response Office, Wellington - WairarapaThe Crown Response Office is a business unit hosted by The Public Service Commission.
It was established in September 2024 to drive the Government's response to the Royal Commission of Inquiry into Abuse in Care.
The creation of the Office within a central Government agency was a key recommendation by the Royal Commission's final report.We currently have a fixed term or secondment opportunity for a Policy Manager to the end of September 2025 with a possibility of extending beyond this date.
This is a newly created position reporting to the Head of Policy.The Policy Manager leads a team of policy analysts and senior policy analysts responsible for developing, coordinating and delivering high-quality policy advice.
The role will provide mentoring to less experienced policy analysts and support their overall professional development.This role will contribute to policy initiatives within the Crown Response Office through providing high quality specialist advice.
The Policy Manager will also provide expert advice and contribute to briefings for Government officials and Ministers, including inputting into Ministerial and Cabinet papers.The role is accountable for helping to ensure policy is developed in an integrated way, adequately gives effect to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and appropriately acknowledges survivor voice.To be successful, you will be a proven leader of people with a deep understanding of the policy process.
You are able to build and maintain key relationships in a cross-agency work programme environment.
