The Partnership comprises 20 dairy and dairy support farms, covering around 4,000 hectares with 80 kaimahi and/or contractors supporting the farming operations.

Therefore, Maori values and customs underpin PKW's environment and practices.The primary focus of the role is to assist the Ahuwhenua (Farms) team with a range of expertise to manage the differing properties covering periods of absence and leave taken by Farm Managers and staff, along with assisting on the farms with regular duties throughout the year for both Bovine and Ovine departments.The position of Group Relief Farm Manager (Bovine/Ovine) encompasses the following Key Accountabilities:Milking Management: Oversee all aspects of the milking process.Feed Management: Feed allocation and management.Stock Management: Ensuring cow health and wellbeing is maintained to a high degree at all times.
Rearing of juvenile animals on farm.Farm/Asset Maintenance: Maintenance of the farm and supporting infrastructure including buildings, equipment, machinery, fences, and races as required.Behaviours: Strive for sustainable business excellence, use initiative and flexibility in adapting to change, communicate in an inclusive manner.Relationship / Stakeholder Interaction: Develop and maintain positive and productive working relationships with key individuals, hapu, iwi, and industry sector partners.Health and Safety: Proactively advance Health and Safety opportunities internally to develop a positive health and safety culture.Organisational Responsibilities: All policies and procedures are complied with including timely and accurate completion of administration requirements.Preferred candidates for this role will have a working knowledge of farming, especially dairy operations, and a commitment to health and safety in the workplace.The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate an understanding and empathy with Maori aspirations for economic development and of tikanga Maori.A unique and challenging opportunity, this role represents an exciting career step for those looking to contribute their expertise in a whanau-based, dynamic, and future-focused organisation based in the beautiful region of Taranaki.Please apply via the Seek website.
