Head Winemaker - Auckland - Inspira Head Hunting Consulting3 days agoDescriptionThe Delegat Group is a leading global wine company and New Zealand's number one wine exporter.Our team is seeking a high-calibre Head Winemaker to lead a dedicated, talented winemaking team across three state-of-the-art winery sites – Auckland, Marlborough and Hawke's Bay.About the RoleThis is a rare opportunity to take on one of the world's most significant winemaking roles, with the flexibility to be based in any of these three locations.You will report to the Group Technical Manager (Viticulture & Winemaking), and be responsible for the continued success of the Oyster Bay and Delegat portfolios, plus leading and mentoring the winemaking team to refine style and keep driving quality.Your Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement strategies to drive business growth through exceptional winemaking practices.Liaise with trade, media, industry bodies and growers to build strong relationships and promote our brands.Lead and mentor a team of winemakers to refine their skills and achieve high-quality results.Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and drive business objectives.RequirementsProven experience as a senior winemaker, with a strong understanding of viticulture and winemaking principles.Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.What We OfferAn attractive remuneration package, commensurate with experience, including a base salary of $180,000 - $220,000 per annum, depending on experience.
