Larnach Castle is a historical monument in the heart of the Otago Peninsula. Built in 1871 by William Larnach, the castle holds fascinating stories of the past and offers a glimpse of the Victorian lifestyle. We are seeking passionate and dynamic chefs to join our team.We operate four separate kitchens, serving breakfast and dinner to our accommodation guests, operate a café during daytime hours and functions in the evening. We operate 7 days a week, 365 days a year and the successful applicant must be available on weekends and public holidays.Key ResponsibilitiesPreparing and cooking quality menu items.Assist with the smooth running of the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, and plating.Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety and cleanliness in all kitchen areas.Work closely with other chefs, kitchen staff and the front of house team.RequirementsAt least 2 years' experience in a busy kitchen environment or 1 year of experience with relevant qualifications.Relevant cookery and food safety qualifications is a bonus.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Able to multitask.Calm under pressure.Can work weekends, public holidays and statutory days.Reliable transport and a current driver's license.If you wish to be considered for the position, please submit your CV and covering letter by email to ****** position is a permanent full-time role.All applicants for this position must have the right to work in New Zealand, reliable transport, a current driver's license and be able to work weekends, school holidays and statutory days.
