We are seeking an innovative and passionate teacher, who has students at the heart of their practice, to teach predominantly maths classes across any level. Senior classes may be available but enthusiasm and empathy for Y9–10 learners will be a definite advantage.
For suitable applicants, part-time hours may also be considered. Beginning teachers and primary trained teachers are especially welcome to apply. It is very important that applicants have an understanding of the NZ Curriculum and the Aotearoa-NZ context.
Rangitikei College is located in Marton, less than 40 minutes from Palmerston North and Whanganui and has a growing roll of just over 300 young people.
Having recently reset our pouwhenua (purpose, vision and values), our college is poised to launch into significant curriculum transformation over the next few years. The successful applicant will be expected to be committed to that journey and be prepared to work closely with teachers from other learning areas to create new learning opportunities for our students. A strong commitment to culturally responsive and relational teaching approaches is essential.
