About the Role As a key member of the directorate clinical and operational partnership, your role is to provide an environment that supports the delivery of safe, high-quality and effective health care within allocated resources to your directorate. This role will report operationally to the Operations Director and work in a partnership model with the Operations Director and Medical Directors to foster strong inter-professional teams delivering high standards of care. You will provide professional and clinical advice to the Operations Director and will be connected via the Office of Chief Nurse Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Waikato.
The role will line manage the Nurse Managers who will support this role to ensure all components of Care Capacity Demand Management are understood, implemented, and monitored.

About You Success in this role will hinge on your proven experience (minimum of 7 years) in an operational leadership role alongside extensive clinical knowledge and experience in the surgical/theatre environments. The successful candidate will:
Have competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.Have experience in upholding Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.Demonstrate leadership experience in managing complex dynamics associated with multi-professional groups.Assess and make effective decisions under pressure in complex situations and use your own judgement to problem solve.Understand how to use data to improve quality, performance, and growth.Have an understanding of the background to and aims of current healthcare policy within New Zealand.Demonstrate highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the capacity to negotiate, resolve conflict, and positively influence and motivate others.It is essential that you have: Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand.Expert level on the Nurses Professional Development and Recognition Programme (PDRP) or if appropriate has achieved senior nurse level on the Senior Nurses PDRP.7+ years of experience in leadership in a complex health-related environment with surgical and theatre clinical expertise.Working for Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is 'the weaving of wellness'.
