Our team here at Transpower is working hard to enable a net-zero carbon future.About the opportunityYou'll be joining our specialist Grid Investment and Modelling team who support infrastructure decision making. The team interfaces and works with a range of other teams nationwide, who collectively manage critical infrastructure assets in excess of $5.5B.The data you'll work with comes from a variety of market, customer, and internally sourced data outputs to provide us with insights across multiple areas. These include current and future electricity demands, potential generation capability, emerging new energy sources, future pricing, and transmission demands, as well as asset management and hydrology implications and impacts.Using data provided and working with others, you'll model, analyse, and advise upon future scenarios including:transmission network flowsthe impacts of new generation sourcescost constraints on the networkthe impact of power outagesgrid investments and areas of upgradeelectricity price forecastsIt's work that matters and makes a difference to all New Zealanders now and well into the future. This role will position you well for career progression into other areas of our business over time with ~30% of our roles being filled internallyAbout youYou'll bring proven quantitative data analysis and modelling skills, plus the ability to effectively and clearly communicate your analysis, both visually and in written report form.
