Reporting to the Networks Manager, the Operations Supervisor is to ensure service delivery demonstrates Veolia Water's commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and customer service while meeting performance and service Key Performance Indicators and applying Quality and Health and Safety procedures. You must continually drive for improvement by promoting new initiatives, challenging the status quo, and aiming for improved efficiencies and operational outcomes.In accordance with Veolia Water's Vision and Mission Statements, you are responsible for building and maintaining successful and effective relationships with Veolia Water personnel, client representatives, and customers.What's on offerMeaningful work that directly impacts community well-beingA collaborative and supportive team environmentWork with modern equipment and technologyOpportunities for professional growth and developmentStable employment with a globally recognised organisationEmployee share plan with discounted Veolia sharesEmployee Assistance Program (EAP) covering mental health, nutrition, financial, legal, and career supportWhat you'll be responsible forMonitor and supervise the operations and maintenance of the water, wastewater, and stormwater networks throughout the Queenstown area and Veolia Water's procedures.Supervise the Queenstown operations team.Complete the associated administration work in an accurate and timely manner.Positively contribute to the Queenstown and district-based operations teams and provide general operation and maintenance assistance as appropriate.Participate in the Queenstown on-call roster.Contribute to the management of the Health and Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management Systems while applying the procedures in all aspects of work.Comply with VW-ANZ Behaviour Framework. This framework (CRIPT) involves all employees being Customer Focused, having Responsibility in the workplace, offering new ideas through Innovation, setting goals and disciplining oneself through Performance, and working together through Team Work.Comply with the requirements of Veolia Water New Zealand Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental Policy Statements, including participation in local toolbox and health and safety meetings.Adhere to all written and verbal instructions, procedures, and information issued by Veolia Water New Zealand relating to both health and safety and environmental issues and with all relevant clauses of the Integrated Business Management System Manual.Comply with the requirements of the company business management system and the Quality Policy for drinking water, wastewater treatment, and disposal to contribute to the company commitment to provide safe, high-quality drinking water and wastewater services that consistently meet or exceed the requirements of the Contracts.Report any problems with the business management system, particularly in relation to the management of occupational health and safety, environment, and drinking water.Undertake such general duties as required for the effective provision of services to the client and customers.What you'll need to be successfulQualifications:At least 5 years in a supervisory or team leader role in the same or similar service industry.Level 4 National Certificate Reticulation – or a willingness to work towards gaining this qualification.Experience:Experience in water, wastewater, and stormwater network operation and coordinating maintenance is advantageous.Previous experience in service delivery and/or trade is considered advantageous.Personal Attributes:Proven ability to maintain accurate work records.Willing to establish and maintain working relationships with colleagues for a harmonious team environment.An effective communicator who can interact and relate to staff at all levels of the organisation, and the client/customers.A self-starter who can work with a high degree of autonomy.Planning and organisational ability.High degree of personal integrity.A good work ethic.Confidence in own judgement and capability.Can maintain a stable performance level during periods of pressure.Able to quickly adapt to changing circumstances.A practical problem solver.Willing to complete further training as required.Other relevant skills or information:Current driver's licence (preferably with Class 2).Ability and willingness to work out of hours when required & if required to take part in an after-hours on-call roster.Understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and Health and Safety legislation.Personal Attributes:Self-motivated with a positive, proactive attitude.Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability.High degree of personal integrity and work ethic.Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.Commitment to ongoing learning and development.With the global expertise gained from serving the environment for more than 150 years, Veolia operates in more than 40 countries around the world, with well over a hundred sites and approximately 6000 employees in Australia & New Zealand.At Veolia Australia and New Zealand, you'll join a team of passionate innovators... and good humans.
