Job description Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Christchurch Salary: £ per hour Start date: October 2024 Hours: Full-time 8:30 – 3:30 (30 minute lunch break) GSL Education are looking for a proactive, experienced and confident individual who can support a challenging key stage 1 class in a mainstream primary school situated in Christchurch.
The school is inclusive and dedicated to supporting pupils of all primary ages and abilities, and they have a high percentage of pupils who have a variety of additional needs.
Because of this, the school are seeking a competent individual who can effectively support and positively impact the pupils.
The role will consist of the following responsibilities: 1:1 support for SEN pupils eg.
working with pupils with ASC, complex needs, challenging behaviours Leading and facilitating small group interventions for children who need additional support, and are currently working below their key stage Help to bridge the gap so that all pupils are appropriately challenged and progressing at their own ability Supporting the class teacher with behaviour management, and working collaboratively with staff to ensure consistency Following Individual Education Plans and EHCPs for individual pupils so that the correct provision is put in place The ideal candidate will: Have lots of patience, be proactive and resilient
- This role can be challenging, but it is very rewarding
Experience working within a primary/SEN/SEMH school (preferred, not essential) A strong ability to develop relationships and rapport with pupils Excellent communication and interpersonal skills If you have suitable experience or feel the experiences you have can be adapted to this role, apply now
