About the role | Ko te mahi neiIn a 4 year fixed term capacity, the Principal Operations Liaison Engineer will lead the operational integration of large-scale capital projects, particularly the $140 million Activated Sludge Plant and associated wastewater treatment upgrades at the Christchurch Wastewater Treatment Plant (CWTP).
The role involves:Providing expert advice on operational engagement throughout the design, construction, commissioning, and handover phases of projects.Ensuring collaboration between capital delivery and operations teams to align project objectives with operational and regulatory requirements.Balancing strategic oversight with the operational needs of the infrastructure.Leading risk management efforts and ensuring effective communication with key stakeholders.Overseeing operational training, commissioning, and handover processes to ensure smooth transitions.This is an excellent opportunity for a highly experienced engineer to play a strategic leadership role while leveraging your technical expertise in wastewater and large infrastructure projects.
Ideally, you'll bring with you:A tertiary qualification in engineering or a related field, with at least 10 years' experience in water/wastewater operations and capital project management.Proven ability to liaise effectively with capital project teams, operational staff, and external stakeholders such as contractors and regulatory bodies.A track record of successfully managing complex infrastructure projects, particularly in the water/wastewater sector.Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and drive collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.Experience managing large-scale projects with a focus on operational integration and regulatory compliance.This role will require you to work closely with a team of experts while also driving strategic outcomes.
