We are seeking an Intermediate Accountant to join our team at Hunter McLeod Ltd in Queenstown, Otago. This full-time role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to contribute to the financial success of our growing organisation.What you'll be doingPreparation and efiling of annual financial statements and tax returns and general compliancePreparation and efiling of GST, PAYE, Income Tax, FBT and other IRD returnsFinancial analysis and Tax planningMonthly cash and accrual management reportingCashflow and Forecast reportsReconciliation and coding of Client Xero transactionsClient advisory, management support and trainingEnsure deadlines are achieved and good organisational skillsMentoring and supporting junior members of the accounting teamWhat we're looking for2+ years of experience in a similar financial accounting role, in the Public Practice Chartered Accounting industryStrong technical accounting skills, with a solid understanding of financial reporting, accounting principles and reconciliation proceduresUp to date working knowledge of New Zealand tax legislationExcellent attention to detailStrong communication and interpersonal skillsProficient in using accounting software, such as Xero and MYOBProficient in using Microsoft OfficeRelevant tertiary qualification in Accounting and CA (or studying towards it)What we offer5 weeks annual leaveOpportunities for professional development and career advancementSupportive and collaborative team environmentAbout usHunter McLeod Ltd is a leading Public Practice Chartered Accountancy and business advisory firm based in Queenstown, Otago.
