Senior Boiler Service Technician

Our Head Office and Auckland Branch are based in Rosedale, Auckland. There are also branches in Hamilton, Hawkes Bay and Wellington. This position will primarily be based in our branch in Rosedale, Auckland. Jobs for this branch spread throughout the greater Auckland region, Northland region and from time to time in the locations in NZ and South Pacific Islands where occasional travel may be required. Customers include those who manage places where people gather, such as hotels, motels, apartment buildings, rest homes, swimming pools, schools, universities and prisons. We also manage assets for industrial concerns such as large bakeries, powder coaters, sawmills, beverage bottlers, abattoirs, animal by-products processors and all manner of other manufacturers who need heat, hot water, hot oil or steam.We're looking for a skilled, personable, energetic, versatile and customer-focused member to join our thriving heating business in the greater Auckland region. The right candidate must be competent and experienced in boiler/burner systems and be able to lead a team alongside the Service Manager.Experience with boilers and burners preferred.Minimum 40 hours a week. Overtime where required.Benefits include:100% subsidized income protection, terminal illness and life insuranceWeekly Tool AllowanceBonuses based upon EBIT at board/CEO discretionUniforms/overalls/PPE EquipmentTravel and meal allowances by meeting certain criteriaChristmas functionOvertime at time and a halfAnniversary and Birthday incentivesJob Description/Skills:Attending jobs on site to complete servicing, installations or repairs unsupervised or assisting colleaguesLiaises with Service Co-Ordinator before and after every jobCompleting a JSA before every job in job systemCompleting timesheets after every job in job systemCompleting job notes after each job in job systemRaising purchase orders in job system and gathering supplies from suppliers if requiredCleaning and organizing the workshop after every use to keep H&S compliantMaintenance / building of electrical control panelsInstallation of electrical cable trays, cables, switches and socketsServicing boiler and burners, including ignition systems and fuel/air mixInstall electrical / gas connections of burners / boilersReading and creating electrical drawingsComplete site and heating system reviewsCompile quotes to clients for repair workKeep up to date with current safety regulations and requirements for the various plumbing & gas systems a company installs and maintainsAnswer calls from staff to help discuss technical issues with fault-finding, parts replacements and breakdownsAnswer calls from clients to assist in customer service with technical questions relating to boiler systemsAttention to detail and ability to problem solveExcellent mechanical and troubleshooting skillsCompleting Site Safe, first aid, confined spaces, working at heights, elevated platforms, forklift license courses to stay compliant with industry standardsAttend quarterly staff meetings, training sessions, H&S meetings, toolbox talks, etc.Self-motivated with attention to detail and excellent workmanshipAbility to work unsupervised and as part of a teamRequirements:Minimum 5 to 7 years boiler/burner experienceFull NZ Driver's licenseValid NZ working or resident visa
