The Role The role will see you involved within a unique 10-year asset replacement programme, addressing aging infrastructure.
The Taupo Control Gates is a critical asset for Mercury and the Waikato Hydro Generation System.
With the programme at the feasibility stage, you'll be reporting to the Programme Manager and be responsible for leading key workstreams to develop a business case.
This will see you responsible for engaging with internal & external stakeholders including iwi and internal governance.
You will work closely with the consultant team to progress an assessment of alternatives process for a replacement structure and facilitating the delivery of environmental and engineering field surveys.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the founding phase of a key project for the Waikato, set to leave a positive legacy on New Zealand's energy sector.
About You Coming from a civil engineering background, you will be a collaborative, self starter individual with strong stakeholder engagement skills, and a proven track record of delivering major civil projects.
With a base level of technical nuance, contract management and strong commercial acumen, it is essential that you are able to translate technical jargon into the simple and your experience will ensure that the deliverables are right sized for the stage the programme is at.
This may see you as a Civil Engineer and Project Manager, from a professional services background or developer, with the desire to join the growing and invigorating energy sector.
Alternatively, you may be part of a similar asset owner, eager to play a key role a unique and diverse project that blends complex engineering, community amenities, and strategic significance.

Reporting to and supported by the Programme Manager, you'll be part of an experienced team, committed to continuing support New Zealand's energy sector.
