About this role | Mo tenei turanga We have two permanent, full-time Early Intervention Teacher positions (1.0 FTE each) based in our Porirua and Lower Hutt regional offices.
The positions will work within their local areas with flexibility to work across the Greater Wellington region as the business needs requires.
You will join a supportive trans-disciplinary team where whanaungatanga and working responsively is valued.
As an Early Intervention Teacher, you will play a critical role in our region's Learning Support team by: * Providing high quality learning support in line with the Ministry's practice framework He Pikorua guiding principles, strands and goals of Te Whariki: Early Childhood Curriculum, and Te Whariki a te Kohanga Reo.
* Building and strengthening the capability of those who are best placed to support children's' learning such as parents, teachers and whanau | families.
* Understanding the families' needs, collaboratively planning, supporting, and monitoring the implementation of intervention plans.
* Supporting transition points in the child's learning pathway, such as transition into early childhood education and to school as required.
* Working as part of a trans-disciplinary team where a child's needs are complex.
Salary range: $69,966.00 - $118,450.00 per annum + 3% KiwiSaver.
The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

About you | Mohou ake To be successful you will need: * A Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood).
* A post-graduate Diploma in Specialist Teaching: Early Intervention or the ability to attain this within four years of beginning in the position.
* A minimum of three years teaching experience and a deep knowledge of child development, learning and behaviour.
* An understanding of a range of needs and disabilities and their implications for daily functioning in family life and for teaching and learning in the context of early childhood and family homes.
* The ability to develop and interact effectively with people of other cultures focusing on relationship and recognising their identity, language and culture as a source of strength.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively with akonga | learners, whanau | families and kaiako | teachers across a diverse range of settings.
* The ability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangata whenuatanga.
* The ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.
* A full driver licence.
About our group and team | Matau ropu ake Te Mahau | Te Tai Runga provides leadership and integrated services to the education sector and others.
This includes learning support; education advice and regulation functions for schools and early learning services; and advice and support with curriculum.
We also share practice and learnings collaboratively with other Te Mahau and Ministry groups to support insights driven guidance, design, and policy.
Our Learning Support practitioners work closely with families, whanau, caregivers, schools and early childhood educators in English and Maori medium settings and other agencies to help maximise learning outcomes and promote social inclusion.
