About the RoleOur Quality, Research and Development RT is the driver of change and safety in our RT department; they use their specialised RT knowledge to develop, review and audit our procedures and are a constant source of support, and stability for our dedicated team of Radiation Therapists.
This is a great leadership opportunity for the right candidate and we are searching for that special RT who is looking to join us covering an upcoming parental leave and make this exciting step in their career; see what a day in the life of a Waikato Radiation Therapist is like .Key responsibilities of the role: Radiation Therapist Quality, Research and Development broadens and enriches the role of Radiation Therapists by increasing their involvement in research, technique and process development.
To ensure the development of radiation therapy service specific protocols, procedures and guidelines, fostering evidence-based practice of radiation planning and treatment delivery.
To ensure the foundation of staff practices, knowledge and training are embedded in continuous quality improvements.

About the TeamThe Waikato Regional Cancer Centre is located in the city of Hamilton, New Zealand.
This unit serves a population of approximately 850,000 and has approximately 120 staff.
We are comprised of an Oncology Department (which includes Radiation Therapy and Chemotherapy outpatient treatment areas), an Inpatient Ward, Palliative Care Service and a Haematology Outpatient Department.Our RT department centre is an all Varian environment (Eclipse, TrueBeam, Halcyon with Hypersight, Bravos) and delivers advanced treatment techniques, including SABR, IGRT and HyperArc SRT.
About youOur ideal candidate will have: Wide range of advanced radiation therapy knowledge gathered over at least three years practicing as a radiation therapist.Proven leadership, self-awareness and maturity when dealing with complex situations, specifically when reviewing radiation therapy techniques.High level of emotional intelligence and ability to connect and communicate knowledge with people.Perform well under pressure and able to problem solve independently.Registration and current practising certificate (without restrictions) as a Radiation Therapist with the New Zealand MRTB.
