Unison's vision is to lead a sustainable energy future that supports consumer's changing energy needs, while enabling their communities to prosper for generations to come.Since their founding in 1924, they have grown to become a Group of specialist companies operating in the electricity sector, with a customer base spanning the globe, and operations in New Zealand, Australia, and Indonesia.The Opportunity:Reporting to the General Manager Commercial and Regulatory, you will be responsible for ensuring that Unison Network Limited's regulatory management requirements are met in a timely and effective manner through well-constructed advocacy and effective internal compliance processes.
This includes:Working collaboratively with the senior management developing Unison's position on matters of regulatory change or impact on the organisationAdvocating on behalf of Unison Networks to the relevant regulatory agencies, including the Commerce Commission and the Electricity Authority, in order to promote Unison's strategic and business interestsMonitoring and reporting on regulatory developments to identify opportunities and risks which may impact Unison's strategic or policy initiativesEnsuring that Unison's regulatory and compliance requirements are effectively communicated and implemented across the organisationProviding training and documentation to support the above, where necessaryWhat You'll Bring:Relevant experience gained in comparable regulatory management rolesExperience and ability to lobby, influence and work closely with relevant regulatory agenciesExperience in developing submissions, discussion papers, reports and data on regulatory mattersStrong financial literacy; an understanding of economic and financial modelsAbility to engage successfully and build relationships with Govt, politicians, agencies, advisors and key influencersHighly effective written and verbal communication skillsA relevant tertiary qualification in Commerce, Economics, Law, or similarAs a Valued Unison Team Member, You'll Enjoy:A supportive and inclusive work environment where fresh thinking and innovation is encouragedOpportunities for ongoing professional developmentA competitive remuneration package, including Life Insurance, Health Insurance, and other subsidies to enjoy an active and healthy Hawke's Bay lifestyleRelocation assistance to Hawke's Bay (if required)Act NowThe electricity sector is undergoing an exciting transition to a new, sustainable energy future.
