The focus of this role is to effectively collaborate with brokers and underwriters alike to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in underwriting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and peers.Location: This role can be based in either our Auckland or Christchurch offices.How you'll make an impactMentor, support, motivate and manage a team of underwriters.Engage and maintain strong relationships with the Gallagher branches and drive confidence in placing business with Monument.Collaborate with brokers and insurers to tailor insurance solutions that meet their specific needs.Act as a strong advocate for Monument and point of contact for the broker network.Be a problem solver with a "we can" attitude.Visit Gallagher branches you support to engage and support brokers.Assist the Underwriting Team Leader in developing training plans and improving referral turnaround time.Skills and experienceMinimum 5 years previous Fire and General underwriting experience as a commercial underwriter or equivalent level.Proven ability to underwrite complex underwriting problems within defined guidelines and business objectives.Proven ability to build, maintain and enhance positive and constructive relationships with insurers and broking networks alike.Ability to coach and motivate a team and build effective relationships with team members.Previous experience working with connected systems or intermediated business would be beneficial.PreferableA tertiary qualification in Commerce, Financial Services, Insurance or NZQA / ANZIIF recognized qualifications.Experience of growing new business opportunities would be advantageous.BenefitsComprehensive reward and recognition program.Life insurance benefit (T&Cs apply).Discounted personal insurance.Yearly wellness contribution.Yearly flu vaccinations.We support you to develop your skills with excellent learning and development opportunities.How to apply:If this sounds like you, then click the "quick apply" button above, or for more information contact our friendly recruitment team via email at ****** note preference will be given to candidates who already have the right to work in New Zealand.Compensation and benefitsWe value inclusion and diversityInclusion and diversity (I&D) is a core part of our business, and it's embedded into the fabric of our organization.
