You can join our dedicated team of health care professionals in a fast-paced and supportive environment as a Health Care Assistant.

As a Health Care Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering quality patient care for our patients and whanau.

About our Service The Waikato ED is the major regional referral and trauma centre for the Midland region.
We see approximately 85,000 patients per year with a broad case mix of presentations from paediatrics to geriatrics, medicine to trauma – there is no aspect of emergency medical care we do not provide.

A typical day as a Health Care Assistant can include: Assisting with basic patient care Restocking of supplies Maintaining a clean and safe environment Other such duties that will assist with the smooth running of the department The successful candidate will be provided with a comprehensive orientation programme and supportive staff development opportunities.

About you The successful applicant will need: Excellent communication and time management skills. Enjoy working in a team environment. Have a positive attitude which will reflect positive patient care. Competency in adapting to changing environments. Sensitivity to the needs of the people around you. Current experience working in a NZ health care, emergency / critical care department is essential.

Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.
