Generalist psychiatrist skills are required as participation in an after-hours on-call roster is required.
The after-hours roster is well supported by skilled and experienced front-line clinical staff who work with a cultural team.
Te Whatu Ora Tairawhiti Mental Health and Addiction Services, Te Ara Maioha, have several opportunities to either explore specialties or generalist Consultant Psychiatry in General Adult, Mental Health Services for Older People, and Infant, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
Days and hours can be negotiated.
Due to new funding allocated to the Tairawhiti region for the development of new service models and facilities that will better provide for the needs of the local community, now is the time to be part of shaping service delivery.
There is a focus on co-design and strong community engagement in addressing inequalities for Maori.
Join our dynamic healthcare team in Tairawhiti, where we are dedicated to providing high-quality medical care to our community (population 50,000) on the East coast of the North Island.

About you Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry or equivalent.
Registered or eligible for vocational registration in Psychiatry with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
Skills and experience Broad clinical experience.
Specialist knowledge and broad clinical experience of Mental Health Services for Older People and General Adult psychiatry.
The ability to work professionally and effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Commitment to quality and safety in clinical practice.
Have a current driver's licence valid in New Zealand.
