As a Healthcare Assistant with Mercy Hospice, you'll be a valuable part of an inclusive, supportive, and highly experienced In-patient Unit (IPU) team based in Ponsonby.Nga Awhina moku / Benefits you will enjoy:Extensive professional development from internal and external training providersFull support with orientation as well as an individual training plan specific to your needsAmple FREE PARKING on site at Mercy HospiceFull IT Support and cyber security across all your devicesNga kawenga matua o te mahi / Key responsibilities of the role:Assisting nursing colleagues to provide personal care to patientsEnsuring meals and refreshments are provided for patients in the IPUCommunicating to the nursing and medical staff of any physical, psychosocial/spiritual needs seen during patient caresEnsuring nursing equipment and resources are available for staff to useIdentifying potential health and safety hazards and managing any risksNga pukenga e hiahiatia / Skills you'll bring to the role:Ideally experience working as a Health Care Assistant - either in palliative care, general medicine/surgery or aged careExcellent communication skills and a 'can do' attitudeMercy Hospice operates a 7 day a week, 24 hours a day IPU service and as such applicants must be available to work rostered shifts.Mercy Hospice strongly encourages all staff to follow the Ministry of Health guidelines regarding current or future booster vaccinations.To apply for this role, please submit your CV and a Cover letter via our advert on Seek.Mercy Hospice is an industry leader and has been delivering specialist palliative care for over 40 years.
