If so, Zen Maker Lab has an exciting opportunity for youThe ideal candidate:Is a student enrolled in a Marketing program in a post-secondary Institution or a recent Marketing Graduate, with an interest in event marketing.Is outgoing and passionate about interacting with the public.Has a driver's license and access to a vehicle.Key Responsibilities:Event Representation: Represent Zen Maker Lab at various events, workshops, and community outreach programs.STEM/STEAM Education: Engage with children and youth, inspiring them with hands-on activities and demonstrations in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics.Marketing Support: Assist in the promotion and marketing of Zen Maker Lab events and programs.Event Setup and Takedown: Transport, set up, and dismantle event materials, including tents, tables, and educational supplies.Community Engagement: Build relationships with parents, educators, and community members to promote Zen Maker Lab's mission and offerings.Feedback Collection: Gather feedback from event participants to help improve future programs and events.Supervise Promo Staff: Supervise a team of student/part-time workers/volunteers.Qualifications:Passion for STEM/STEAM: Enthusiastic about science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics, with a desire to inspire others.Excellent Communication Skills: Able to convey information clearly and engagingly to children and youth.Physical Ability: Capable of lifting and transporting supplies up to 20kg, including tents and tables, to and from events.Dependable Transportation: Must have a reliable car for transporting materials to various locations.Flexible Schedule: Availability to work variable hours, including evenings and weekends, based on event schedules.Event Marketing Interest: Keen interest in learning and developing skills in event marketing.Preferred Experience:Previous experience working with children and youth in educational or recreational settings.Background in event planning or marketing.Familiarity with STEM/STEAM concepts and educational tools.Benefits:Opportunity to inspire and educate the next generation in STEM/STEAM fields.Gain valuable experience in event marketing and community engagement.Flexible working hours and a dynamic work environment.Mileage reimbursement for travel to and from events.The approximate hours per week are 10-20 hours.
Compensation ranging between $20-$25/hr depending on experience.Due to the nature of the role involving interactions with children, a Criminal Record Check is mandatory.
