About the Role The Patient at Risk (PAR) service supports acutely unwell patients on the wards and provides a conduit to ICCU.
This is a 24/7 nursing-led service, with full consultant support.

About the Team/Service The PAR service uses a multi-disciplinary approach to identify patients at risk of, or developing, critical illness in the general ward environment.
The emphasis is on support and helping to educate ward staff to recognise clinical deterioration and rapidly initiate an appropriate escalation of care.

The PAR team responds to medical emergencies, acute referrals, and ICCU follow-ups across all inpatient services.
The service will provide 24/7 cover, with the expectation you will work across all shifts, Monday to Sunday.
The PAR team will be line managed by the ACNM ICCU.

About You Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth Experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings. We are seeking enthusiastic, highly motivated individuals who have a passion for providing care to the deteriorating patient.
