About the roleIf you have a class 2 license, enjoy the outdoors and are looking for a fun and rewarding role between now and Christmas - an opening just came up that we are looking to fill immediately. You will be driving a modern Hino truck with a sweet sound system, air conditioning, and easy to use systems for securing your load. You will be fit and not afraid of helping the friendly team load and unload Christmas Trees from the truck and trailer.This role is critical to the supply chain of Misa Christmas Trees and is responsible for driving trucks to collect daily tree deliveries required to meet demand. The Farm Driver works closely with the team to ensure enough trees in the right sizes are delivered daily to Misa Christmas Trees yard in Balmoral from the commercial farm in South Head.Safety is the number one priority in this role and as well as following the Health and Safety policy, always taking extreme care to ensure careful driving and safe practice around the trucks is absolutely critical.Requirements for the role:You will need a class 2 truck license and experience driving truck and trailer.You should be fit and healthy able to assist loading and unloading trees.You should be available immediately. We are looking to fill the role asap.You will have a clean driver's license.Position specific responsibilitiesEnsuring the safety of the team and customers at all times, including ensuring Health and Safety guidelines are followed (refer Health and Safety policy), including policies specifically relating to Truck safety.Monitoring the performance of the truck and ensuring any potential issues or hazards are flagged with General Manager as soon as they are noticed.Driving truck to farm and back in a careful manner observing all speed limits and safety procedures such as being well rested and taking adequate breaks.Assisting the Farm Managers load up the trucks, and assisting the team unload the trucks as required.Taking full responsibility for securing load before every journey, and also checking trucks have diesel, oil, adequate tyre pressure and all other critical functions are working.As demand for trees fluctuates day to day this role needs to be on standby for short notice requests for trips to the farm.
