Locomotive Warranty TechnicianStadler do everything to produce the best rail vehicles in the world and they have just partnered up with KiwiRail to provide low emissions locomotives.This is part of a $1.7b investment in rolling stock that will enable KiwiRail to deliver better service to its customers and further enhance New Zealand's freight market access to low carbon emission transport.As part of this exciting new initiative, they require a Locomotive Warranty Technician to provide warranty support to Stadler project teams during the introduction and operation of new fleets.Key duties will include:Undertake commissioning activities, functional testing from testing of the wiring through to the static and dynamic commissioning of complete rail vehiclesUndertake fault finding utilizing software tools to identify the root cause and associated repair required of the electronic, electrical and electromechanical componentsResponsible for the complete logging of the resulting test and measurement resultsPreparing and accompanying test drives/runsOperational support, troubleshooting and implementation of warranty work to ensure high availability of the rail vehiclesUndertake and provide support across the business for all condition monitoring and manually monitored systems on the train and its interfacesProviding mentoring and technical knowledge to colleagues, and liaising with the customer through each stepIdentify and enable effective cross team organisation working relationshipsTo be successful in this role, you will have the following experience:Trade qualified in Electrical Mechanical/Heavy Vehicle MaintenanceExtensive Mechanical Engineering SkillsAbility to work in a team and at times unsupervisedStrong computer skills ideally using diagnostic toolsExcellent communication skillsThis is an excellent opportunity to work with the latest technology in the rail field and on a brand-new fleet to the NZ transport infrastructure.A two year fixed term contract is on offer, but will likely be extended.These roles will be based in Christchurch, but we welcome applications from experienced technicians who would like to relocate; relocation assistance will be provided.Apply online now at www.terracat.co.nz or call the Talent Acquisition team on 0800 228 562 for any further enquiries.
