About the Role The Child Development Service is looking for a clinical psychologist to permanently join the team.
The role is 0.8 FTE (32 hours per week).
We are a multi-disciplinary team providing specialist developmental assessments (including cognitive / neuropsychological assessments, and assessment for Autism Spectrum Disorder) and interventions.
We use a holistic approach to enable children with disabilities to reach their maximum potential within their families and extended environment.
Teamwork is a key component of the role, working collaboratively with medical and allied health professionals.
The position is currently based at the Puketiro Centre, Porirua, and the applicant would need to be available to work on all Child Development sites across the region (Wellington to Kapiti).
About the Team/Service/Location The Child Development team is a committed team of Allied health professionals working within a transdisciplinary model, using a holistic approach to enable children to reach their maximum potential within their families and extended environment.
The team is comprised of the following disciplines: Speech Language Therapists, Visiting Neurodevelopmental Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Clinical Psychologists, Developmental Paediatricians, Social Worker, Clinical Pathway Coordinator, and ASD Coordinator.
We have a small team of support staff to assist the work undertaken.
About you The successful applicant will be able to work collaboratively and supportively with other team members to ensure the provision of appropriate assessment and treatment.
The person suitable for this role will also have excellent clinical skills and be comfortable with assessment.
The ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships within the team is essential.
Current registration with the Psychologists Board with clinical psychologist scope of practice.Previous experience working with children and their families and in the field of disability would be an advantage.
