Our Outside Broadcast fleet is responsible for filming live race day activities, playing a crucial role in the successful production of our visual content.
We are now seeking a Camera Operator to join our Palmerston North team on a casual basis.Our Camera Operators are vital contributors to the success of our live race day activities.
Their technical skills, proactive nature, and ability to work under varying conditions make our Camera Operators indispensable in the creation of our visual media.
From day one, you'll be immersed in the dynamic and thrilling pace of the horseracing and broadcasting industry.

You will be immersed in field-based work, where it all happens
This role is based in Palmerston North, including travel across the North Island for race days.This is an exciting part-time opportunity, offering approximately 30 hours per fortnight, with the chance for even more hours during the bustling Spring and Summer seasons
You're someone who thrives within a dynamic environment and enjoys a flexible schedule across weekdays, weekends, some public holidays, and potential late nights.Your day-to-day...From our Palmerston North base, you'll drive vehicles and equipment to and from race tracksCollaborate with the team to move equipment to the race track for events, and return once completedAssemble, prepare, set up, and test cameras and other equipment, ensuring communications are testedEfficiently report issues to the Director and/or technical staff and assist technical staff with resolving issuesPerform basic maintenance checks on equipment at the conclusion of a race day, escalating equipment issues to the Technical TeamFollow camera instructions from the Director on framing shots and maneuvering the camera throughout the broadcastTransforms the Director's instructions into precisely framed and composed shots to vividly capture the on-track actionCoordinate closely with the Outside Broadcast team to ensure a flawless broadcastYou're a match if you ideally have...A strong work ethic, proactive mindset, and drive to learn and immerse yourself in the industryExperience with live events and a solid understanding of camera operations would be advantageousRelevant tertiary qualifications in Film, Television, and Journalism would be highly regardedEffective problem-solving skills, paired with clear and constructive communication skillsA collaborative nature who excels in a team environment, balanced with the ambition for autonomy and accountabilityAn attentive attitude and ability to maintain focus for extended periodsA full driver's license is essential, and further licensing permitting heavy truck driving would be advantageous.Physical fitness and feel comfortable with lifting and carrying heavy camera equipmentWho are we?At Entain Australia & New Zealand, we're on a mission to revolutionise the world of sports and gaming venue entertainment.
