About the RoleJoin our clinical pharmacy team in a rotational role that offers hands-on experience across a variety of services within a tertiary facility renowned for high-quality care in specialties such as medical, surgical, mental health, cardiology, renal, critical care, paediatrics, and more.
You'll rotate through all areas of our pharmacy service, including clinical and ward work, the haematology, oncology, and compounding teams, as well as the quality and safe use of medicines team, and both inpatient and outpatient pharmacy settings, providing a comprehensive learning environment.
This role includes occasional weekend shifts compensated at overtime rates, plus opportunities to participate in the on-call roster as needed.Whether you are an experienced pharmacist or just starting your career, we offer ongoing training and mentorship to support your professional growth, with access to various opportunities—including funding for further studies, courses, and conferences, as well as full funding for APC and professional membership fees.
In addition, we offer competitive remuneration with automatic annual increases, and you'll enjoy 5 weeks of annual leave after just 5 years of service at Te Whatu Ora sites, plus additional long service leave, ensuring a rewarding balance between your career and personal life.The salary for this position will be based on experience and in line with the Allied, Public Health, Scientifc & Technical Collective Agreement.

About the Team/ServiceThe Te Whatu Ora Waikato Pharmacy Service provides essential pharmacy services to Waikato Hospital and rural hospitals, as well as tertiary advisory and support services to the Te Manawa Taki region.
Our team is vital to the effective operation of healthcare, upholding the highest standards in pharmaceutical supply, medicines safety, and clinical services.
With an outpatient pharmacy, a robust clinical trials service, and a compounding suite, we offer a diverse range of services that truly set us apart.
About youSkills and experience you'll need to be considered for the role:Essential Registration with the Pharmacy Council of New Zealand.A current annual practising certificate with the Pharmacy Council of New Zealand.New graduates and community pharmacists welcome to apply
Desirable 3+ years of experience as a pharmacist.Hospital level experience.Post-graduate qualification in clinical pharmacy.Current New Zealand driver's license.
