The focus of the role is to coordinate and deliver effective research informed teaching for SPEX 205 Physical Activity & Health and within our postgraduate programme.The general expectations for the role include the following key tasks:Coordinating and delivering effective research-informed undergraduate teaching and learning in SPEX 205 Physical Activity and Health, including marking assessments and exams, providing constructive and timely feedback to students on their progress towards learning outcomes.Contributing to teaching and assessment within our team-taught postgraduate papers in clinical exercise physiology.Providing supervision to students undertaking an exercise prescription practicum at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.Promoting the School's efforts to understand and realise the letter and the spirit of the University's Maori Strategic Framework, and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.EssentialYour skills and experience/Ka pukeka me ka wheakoA post-graduate qualification related to sport and exercise science, physical activity and health, clinical exercise physiology or equivalent.Experience of effective teaching at a tertiary or secondary institution.A commitment to upholding values, tikanga, kawa and traditions, as guided by Kai Tahu who are mana whenua in the region.Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work independently and in a team.DesirableSuitable professional experience working in exercise prescription.Registration or accreditation with a relevant professional body, such as Sport & Exercise Science New Zealand, or Clinical Exercise Physiology New Zealand.Further Details/PurokoThis is the perfect opportunity for an energetic, creative and committed individual to make a significant contribution to our students' learning in physical activity and health and exercise prescription while being well supported by staff in a collegial and dynamic School and University.Collaboration and collegiality are important values in the School, and we seek a colleague who will both enjoy and enhance our cooperative work environment.
