Full time, Permanent Experienced Cook Our busy Bakery and Café is looking for an experienced Cook to join our hard-working team in the heart of Morrinsville. As a Cook, your responsibilities include: Preparing and assembling ingredients for menu items (e.g., meat, onions, pie fillings) Preparing high-quality meals and food items according to company recipes (e.g., breakfast items, MacNCheese, lasagne, quiche, stuffed potatoes) Assisting bakers with cakes and sweet items Assisting front of house staff with preparing coffees and other drinks Storing excess food at the correct temperature to avoid spoilage Ensuring that food portions and presentation meet company standards Monitoring supplies and re-ordering stock as needed Ensuring that cooking utensils are clean before each use Cleaning and sterilizing food preparation areas Assisting other cooks and kitchen staff to ensure that food orders are completed in a timely manner Flexibility to help serve customers if required Efficiently resolving problems with customers' orders Ensuring that food health and safety regulations are followed Qualifications or Work Experience: You must have EITHER a New Zealand Certificate in Hospitality (Cookery, Level 2/3) or equivalent qualifications relevant to perform the job OR at least 1 year of work experience as a Cook/Chef if without qualification. Personal Characteristics: Honest Reliable Hardworking Able to work in a team environment Take pride in your work Have a passion for food Be able to meet health and food safety requirements Able to follow instructions and recipes Personally fit as it may involve lifting heavy ingredients and standing for long periods Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, with shifts from 1am – 9am and 6:00am-2:30pm on different days. Any additional hours will be paid at the ordinary hourly rate. Hourly rate dependent on skills and experience, in the range of $25-$30 per hour.
