You'll be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, including lectures, tutorials, workshops, labs, and fieldtrips; training sessional assistants, and co-convening courses from undergraduate to masters level.
Beyond teaching, you'll undertake original research in animal behaviour, preferably on birds, amphibians, reptiles or bats.
You will also contribute to the teaching, postgraduate supervision and administrative requirements of the School within the Ecology, Biodiversity and Animal Behaviour Team.If you're a passionate academic with a strong background in animal behaviour, a dedication to student success, and a desire to contribute to the broader academic community, this is your chance to inspire the next generation of scholars and make a lasting impact in the fieldSalary will be in the range of $87,500 to $104,322 per year based on skills, knowledge and experience brought to the position.
This is a fixed-term position for three years, starting June or July 2025, with possible extension to four years, if funding permits.
The position is supported by a New Zealand Mana Tuanuku Research Leader Fellowship awarded to an existing academic staff member, thereby creating an opportunity for an early career scientist to establish their own research and teaching profile.
