About the roleThis new role is an exciting opportunity created specifically to join the team in the Interventional Radiology department at Wellington Regional Hospital.
We have identified that a dedicated Clinical Nurse Coordinator position is key to the success of managing the increased demand and reliance on this growing area of Radiology.The Clinical Nurse Co-ordinator will be responsible for the collation, triaging, organisation and booking of interventional radiology procedures.
The successful applicant will enjoy the mix of multi-disciplinary clinical activities, and being part of a small team focused on improving health outcomes for patients who visit our service.We provide care for patients across the Wellington district and are the primary centre for Interventional Radiology within the central region.
Creating strong networks and relationships with services around the region will be important.
This role does not have an on call component, with an expectation that all duties and responsibilities are completed Monday to Friday, between 8am and 5pm.
Part time hours can be considered, with flexibility between 8am-5pm.You will report to the Operations Manager Radiology and have a professional linkage to the Nurse Director Hospital Operations.If have excellent communication skills and an ability to negotiate with key stakeholders in a busy and dynamic environment - this is the role for youAbout the Team/Service/ Location The Clinical Nurse Coordinator will be an essential part of the Interventional Radiology team and wider Interventional teams within the hospital and district.
The successful candidate will form close relationships with the Unit Charge of Intervention, the lead Interventional Radiologist and key Radiology administration staff.
Day to day relationships will include interactions with the Radiology Non-vascular intervention co-ordinator, clinicians/surgeons from Radiology and Vascular teams, while working in a wider role with the Charge Nurse Manager, IRU service leader and nursing teams.As a department, Radiology Services provide a wide range of diagnostic and interventional imaging for Wellington and Hutt Hospital and adjacent regions, including Angiography, CT, Fluoroscopy, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound and General Radiography.
The service is multi-disciplinary, employing Radiologists, Nurses, Administration Support Staff, Medical Imaging Technologists (MITs) and Sonographers.
The Radiology department is a training institution for Radiology Registrars, MITs and Sonographers.
About youThe ideal candidate will have the following: * Registration with Nursing Council of New Zealand (NCNZ) * Minimum of 3 years post registration * Can hit the ground running in the area that is busy and dynamic * Team player, kind and considerate * Working interprofessionally with others * Great communicator * Experience in negotiation and networking across several disciplines.
* Experience in taking ownership accountability and responsibility for the role.
* Experience in anticipating, identifying, resolving clinical and administrative problems to the desired goals.
