We operate in 145+ countries while proudly maintaining headquarters in New Zealand.The RoleThe Information Security Specialist supports the Information Security Manager in maintaining an information security strategy, with a strong focus on ISO27001 standards.
This role ensures that Governance, Risk, Compliance (GRC) and Information Security initiatives align with Seequent's objectives, fostering a culture of compliance, proactive risk management, and effective governance.
A key aspect of the role is integrating Internal Controls within the broader GRC framework to enhance overall resilience.In this role, you will have the opportunity to:Establish and maintain governance policies that reflect best practices and comply with current regulations, with a strong emphasis on ISO27001 standards.Collaborate with senior management and key stakeholders, including departmental Security Champions, to embed GRC and Information Security processes into business operations.Ensure that risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated effectively.
Maintain an updated risk register and oversee the implementation of risk mitigation strategies.Ensure Seequent's activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and standards, integrating compliance efforts with risk management.Develop and manage compliance programs, including training, awareness initiatives, and audits, ensuring they are supported by robust internal controls and aligned with Seequent's risk management objectives.Perform internal audits to give reasonable assurance that compliance requirements are met, and findings are addressed promptly.Use audit results to strengthen internal controls.To be successful in this role, you should have:Demonstrable experience in GRC, risk management, compliance, or a related field, with significant experience in Enterprise Risk Management, Integrated Risk Management, compliance, and Information Security with a focus on ISO27001.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to integrate various risk management activities.Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels, including Security Champions.Relevant industry certifications would be beneficial (e.g., CRISC, CISM, CISA, CISSP, ISO27001).Location and Additional InformationWorking from the Christchurch office 3 days per week.Our Commitment to Equity, Diversity, and InclusionAt Seequent, we champion the uniqueness of each individual.
