Through integration and collaboration, we're building a health system underpinned by partnership, equity, sustainability, whanau-centred care, and excellence.About the RoleBased in the Community Nursing Service, at Wakari Hospital, the role of Oncology/Haematology District Nurse is both busy and challenging but also extremely rewarding. The position involves providing community nursing care and support for medical oncology, radiation oncology and haematology patients receiving chemotherapy or radiation therapy. Some of the key nursing tasks are: comprehensive patient assessment; symptom control and management; patient education; psychosocial assessment and support.This role is also key to the future development of the service, building links within both primary and secondary care and staff education and support.Come and join our friendly and supportive team. A comprehensive orientation will be given.About youWe're looking for a registered nurse with 3 years or greater post grad experience. You will also have:A current New Zealand Registration and APC.Strong communication skills and the ability to quickly develop a rapport with patients and their whanau/family.Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.Experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.Working for Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is 'the weaving of wellness'.
