The Role: We are seeking an experienced Senior Store Person to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Auckland warehouse. In this role, you will manage workflow planning, serve as an escalation point for any issues, and ensure stock, equipment, and supplies are handled efficiently. You will work alongside other Store Persons to ensure goods are received, stored, and dispatched in a timely and effective manner. Please be aware that we are hiring for this position with a target start date of 13 January 2025. Therefore, we are using this advertisement as an expression of interest and will not be reaching out to shortlisted candidates until closer to the end of the advertising period. Please also note that there may be a requirement for travel to Wellington for two weeks of training, which is yet to be confirmed. Key Responsibilities: As the Senior Store Person, you will oversee daily operations at the Auckland warehouse and collaborate with the Procurement Team to manage forward demand. You will be the primary contact for requests and inquiries, ensuring timely responses. Your role includes managing stock and equipment—receiving, checking, storing, and dispatching goods—conducting stock takes, reconciling inventory, and resolving discrepancies. You will maintain up-to-date processes, ensure accurate inventory control systems, and meet transaction service level agreements while contributing to the improvement of warehouse and distribution practices. Delivering excellent customer service is essential, requiring effective communication with the Procurement Team and Project Managers. Additionally, you will train and mentor staff, implement performance development plans, and provide regular feedback. Health, safety, and environmental responsibility are central to your role, ensuring compliance with procedures, participating in training, reporting incidents, and supporting ECL Group's environmental policies to minimise impact. Key Relationships: You will interact with Service Technicians, Managers, Procurement, and the Sales Administrator. Externally, you will liaise with freight and courier companies, suppliers, and other external stakeholders. Skills and Attributes: The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational skills, particularly in managing goods in limited spaces, and strong knowledge of storage and recording systems. Proficiency in Microsoft O365 is essential. You must be a strong communicator, both in writing and verbally, and have excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills. A commitment to quality service and customer satisfaction, along with the ability to think critically, solve problems, and make decisions, is key to success in this role. You must be dependable, proactive, and able to handle conflict maturely while maintaining respect for others. This role requires a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and the ability to share insights and collaborate with the team. Experience in coaching or mentoring others is highly beneficial. Qualifications and Experience: Will have 5 years of practical warehousing or distribution experience.A current forklift license is preferred but not required.Should have sound computer skills, including familiarity with stock management systems and Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as experience with online courier and transport systems.
