Hapara Analytics provides objective data about your digital adoption, allowing school administrators to see and evaluate data about learner engagement, collaboration, and device usage, going back to the day Google Workspace for Analytics was implemented.Hapara is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer for the Hapara New Zealand team.
We are looking for an experienced and skillful Engineer to play a leadership role as the second-in-command of our Front-End Practice.
You will work closely with the Front-End Lead to shape the technical direction of our product, guide less specialized team members, and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality, scalable front-end solutions.
You will perform hands-on development independently and in cross-functional teams.
You will work closely with product managers, designers, and back-end engineers to ensure the seamless integration of front-end and back-end systems.
This role is ideal for someone with strong React expertise and a passion for leading and mentoring developers in a dynamic environment.This role is hybrid based in Auckland, New Zealand.
You must have NZ residency or a valid NZ work permit.Hybrid Monday, Wednesday, and FridayResponsibilitiesHands-On Development: Actively contribute to coding and software design, working primarily with React, TypeScript, and related technologies.Problem Solving: Take ownership of challenging technical issues, troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving problems in the development and production environments.Lead Technical Strategy: Collaborate with and support the front-end lead to define and execute the technical vision for the React development team, ensuring alignment with business objectives and product goals.Code Quality & Best Practices: Advocate for and ensure adherence to best practices in coding, testing, and software architecture.
Conduct code reviews and assist in maintaining a high standard of code quality across the team.Mentorship & Team Development: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers, particularly inducting full stack engineers into our front-end vision.
Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture within the team.You will have a wide range of opinions (about the JavaScript ecosystem, what makes UI great, etc.)
