Mt Cook Alpine Salmon operates two hatcheries, six farms, a Retail Shop, and two processing plants. At times it can be challenging weather conditions that we live/work in, but it's here that Nature provides ideal growing conditions for Freshwater King Salmon.About the Role:• Weekend work required. Roster: Friday – Tuesday. Rostered days off Wednesday & Thursday. Negotiable.• Must hold a full NZ Driving licence.• To represent the business and associated products to customers visiting the retail store to help achieve agreed revenue targets for the company.• To assist the Retail Store Manager as required with ordering and maintaining stock at appropriate levels to ensure minimal waste.• To assist the Retail Store Manager as required to ensure all paperwork and records are completed and filed in a timely manner.• Assist the Retail Store Manager in managing all aspects of the team including staff development, leadership, training, and appropriate disciplinary actions when required.• Recruit and develop new team members as required in conjunction with the Retail Store Manager.• Monitoring of daily cash handling and banking as required.• Assist the Retail Store Manager as required with yearly sales planning and forecasting.• Ensure availability of product by maintaining inventories and managing shelf-life to minimize waste.• Maintain operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing company policies and procedures.• Implement security procedures and policies to minimize stock losses.• Visual presentation, merchandising, and cleaning are to be of food safety standard.• Work with the Retail team to ensure the site is always well presented.• Assist the Retail Team Manager with promotional activities that the business is involved with.• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.• Maintain the stability and reputation of the business by complying with legal requirements.• To organise and implement a suitable health and safety programme in-line with the requirements of the staff and wider company policies.Key Qualities:• Ability to deal with a range of customers and products.• High level of attention to detail.• Willingness and ability to take personal responsibility and act on initiative.• Well organized.• Knowledge of computer systems (sales point, Word, Excel).• Takes pride in presentation of their work.• Ability to plan workload.• Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills.• Ability to work in a team environment.• Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.Your application will include the following questions:• Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in New Zealand?• How many years' experience do you have as an assistant store manager?• Do you have experience in a sales role?• How many years' experience do you have with forecasting for businesses?• Have you worked in a role which requires a sound understanding of OH&S/WHS?
