We are looking for an Apprentice Carpenter to join our team.
About the role:
Based on various project sites, you will report to the Site Manager and/or Site Supervisor, collaborating closely with carpenters and site teams.
As an Apprentice Carpenter, you will work alongside qualified carpenters and tradespeople, gaining hands-on experience and building the foundation of your carpentry career. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and grow within a company that values pride, passion, and excellence.
You will play a vital role at Leighs, representing the future of our workforce and contributing to our mission of shaping a better future in construction. Our apprenticeship programme is designed to support employees in building and developing foundational technical and leadership skills, helping them progress to more senior positions within commercial construction.
Key responsibilities include: Helping with site preparation, groundwork, and building formwork.Assisting with pouring, finishing, and building concrete foundations.Working on framing, linings, and timber structures for building projects.Supporting site tasks, moving materials, and keeping things organised.Following quality standards and reporting any safety issues.Contributing to a safe and compliant work environment.About You:

We are looking for someone with:
Completion of a pre-trade carpentry programme or relevant practical work experience.Knowledge of New Zealand building construction requirements.Understanding of site safety procedures.Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team.What we offer:
