Pool lifeguards are observant, patient, and good with people.
Their skill set means they have the confidence to act in a quick, responsible, and calm way.As a Lifeguard, you are responsible for:Providing a safe environment through proactive supervision and positive interaction with customersEducating and enforcing pool rulesResponding to any First Aid emergenciesEnsuring our pool and the surrounding areas are always cleanAs our centre operates from 5:30am to 7:45pm Monday to Friday, 7 days a week, the ability to work early morning, late night, and weekend is vital.
The ideal candidate would be able to have flexibility to work across a variety of shifts Monday – Sunday.He korero mou: About youWe are looking for strong swimmers, who are dedicated to helping others.The first step in becoming a lifeguard for Auckland Council is to be able to pass this swim test.
Please only apply for this position if you feel you can:Swim 200m in under 6 minutesSwim 25m sidestrokeSwim 50m breaststrokeRetrieve an object from the bottom of the poolTread water for 5 minutesFlexibility, reliability and a commitment to working early, late, and weekend shifts are essential.To work as a pool lifeguard in New Zealand, you will need to hold a Pool Lifeguard Practising Certificate (PLPC).
We will provide all training for you free of charge and will pay for you to attend the training to enable you to get your Pool Lifeguard Practising Certificate (PLPC).
