Your direct impact will influence the people we care for during vulnerable times in their journey through mental health.About youYour duties will be to support mental health patients and staff with general house cleaning, personal care, and other physical requirements within our mental health Service. Each day will be different, and you will have the opportunity to work with patients who need your care and support. This position can be physically demanding, and we do require you to have a certain level of fitness and strength in this role.In order for you to be eligible for this role, you must have the following:Experience caring for people in a similar roleThe flexibility to take on shifts on an on-call basisA passion for people and the communityA genuine desire to help and support others in mental healthNew Zealand Certificate in Health & Wellbeing (Level 4) or be actively on this qualification pathway or have commitment to commence this qualification within six months of employment.Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growthExperience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.Working for Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is 'the weaving of wellness'.
