Its mission is to create intelligent solutions that not only meet the needs of its customers, but also provide them with the long-term benefits of a tailor-made automated system that is eco-designed, efficient, scalable and innovative.Post DescriptionAbout the roleAs the Lead Sales Engineer within the Sales Design team, you will provide impactful leadership and guidance to your direct reports and facilitate the delivery of effective, technical design solutions.Collaborating closely with your team, you will offer mechanical design support throughout the tender process, from estimation to submission.
A key part of this role involves collaborating with the sales team, estimators and other engineering departments to gain a clear understanding of the client's requirements, in order to develop and deliver the most effective solution.Please note: The official title for this role is Sales Design Team Lead.Other Key AccountabilitiesEngineer and design conveyor layout over client's architectural plans according to the design requirement and specificationCommunicate regularly with other members of the project/bid team and be proactive in seeking necessary information to complete the designAllocate tasks and ensure timely delivery of layouts, take-offs and information to the costing team.Occasional domestic and international travel for site visits to verify and gather informationLeadership AccountabilitiesSet clear objectives and guide the team towards achieving successful outcomesDefine clear performance expectations, monitor progress and provide guidance and coaching as requiredAct as a key facilitator for the team and organisation with internal and external communicationsFoster a collaborative and inclusive environmentBenefitsFlexible working policyFree onsite parking in AvondaleDiscounted Southern Cross health insuranceEmployee referral program of $1500 NZDAccess to INSTEP EAP wellbeing support servicesCareer progression opportunitiesProfile RequiredSkills & ExperienceThis role requires someone with a methodical, process-driven approach, with exceptional planning and organisational skills.
As a seasoned, strategic leader, you understand how to maximise your team's skills and experience, in order to effectively navigate the complexities of a dynamic project environment.Other Key RequirementsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fieldExperience with material handling systems and belt conveyors is preferred but not essentialExperience leading a teamExperience with CAD tools, preferably 3D AutoCAD and NavisworksAbility to prepare and interpret concept plans and layoutsPlease note: We will only be considering candidates already located in New Zealand with the legal right to work.
