The Opportunity We are looking for a results-driven General Manager to lead the new Mitre 10 Wellington Central store.
This on-site role offers a competitive salary, includes a bonus profit share option for the right person, along with generous staff discounts.
You will be reporting to the Managing Director and be responsible for:
Driving strategy and performance – developing and executing business strategies that align with our vision and values.Leading a high-performing team – inspiring and mentoring a team to deliver exceptional customer service and sales results.Ensuring operational excellence – overseeing merchandising, inventory, HR, Health & Safety, financials, and store administration.What You'll Bring Retail leadership – you will have 5+ years of senior retail management experience in a big-box or large-format environment.
Experience in home improvement would be of benefit.Business acumen – a track record of exceeding sales and profit targets while optimising store operations.People leadership – proven ability to engage, develop, and inspire a diverse team to create a positive workplace culture.Operations expertise – strong knowledge of merchandising, stock integrity, sales forecasting, and compliance with NZ Employment and Health & Safety laws.Customer focus – passion for enhancing the customer experience and building long-term relationships.Next Step At Mitre 10 Wellington Central we are serious about growth, innovation, and making a real impact in the lives of our customers.
