Our engineering team members span design, analysis, prototyping, testing, manufacturing, assembly and integration, quality control, engineering documentation, and more.WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO:As an Avionics Manufacturing Engineer based at Rocket Lab's site in Auckland, you will have the opportunity to support the production team to achieve the required production rates with the right quality.
In this role you will help develop improvements to the production process within a high-growth, high-consequence production environment.To be successful in this role, you will take ownership of production lines, remove production blockers, understand vehicle risk, and improve manufacturing processes and products to improve build rate and product yield.
There are also opportunities to develop new products and processes, leveraging your strong working knowledge of best-practice manufacturing through prototyping, test, and integration.Join a driven team that's tackling challenging projects, delivering on exciting missions, and making an impact on the future of spaceYOU'LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or Mechatronics EngineeringExperience with electrical hardware systems, PCBA Assemblies, or instrumentation and control systemsExperience designing and debugging electrical test infrastructure or automated test systemsExperience developing basic automation or data analysis scripting in Python, C or similarHands-on technical experience debugging complex electrical or software systems within a production environmentProven ability to deliver engineering projects with little to no supervision on schedule as an individual or as a member of an integrated teamCan-do approach and flexibility to thrive around growing teams and processesExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalProven risk assessment and risk-based decision-making skillsTHESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:Experience with ERP/PLM Systems - Siemens Team Centre / Infor LNKnowledge of production quality metricsStrong experience in configuration control and configuration management in production systemsUnderstanding of instrumentation, interfaces, and sensors including power supplies, accelerometers, thermocouples, RTDs, and pressure sensorsWorking experience with environmental acceptance/production acceptance testing, such as vibration, shock, thermal, and vacuumDemonstrated experience with DFMEA, PFMEA methodologies, Fault Tree Analysis, Pareto analysis, root cause and corrective actionProven ability to deliver new product implementation activities on time and to budgetFamiliar with engineering change processes and implementation in production environmentsWHAT TO EXPECT:We're on a mission to unlock the potential of space to improve life on Earth, but that's not an easy task.
