Plimmeton School - Te Kura o Taupo is seeking a Learning Assistant to work Monday to Wednesday and Fridays for 5 hours per day between 8.55am - 2.25pm during term time.
The person we are seeking would be able to support an active student with significant self-care needs.
This is ideally a position for someone who has had some experience as a Learning Assistant but we would also invite applications from interested people who have patience and empathy, along with an ability to provide consistent expectations for the student.
Responsibilities include: Greeting the student at the taxi van Assisting with transitions to the classroom Supervising during pool activities Facilitating participation in learning activities Supporting the student during meals Managing personal care Administering medication Monitoring their movements throughout the school Collaboration with teachers and communication about the student's needs is crucial.

This is a term-time only, fixed-term role for Term 4 of this year; with the possibility of extending into 2025.
