At ANZ, we're shaping a world where people and communities thrive, driven by a common goal: to improve the financial wellbeing and sustainability of our millions of customers.Mo te turanga - About the roleAs a Senior Business Analyst in the Cards Switching NZ Technology team, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the bank's card switching services.Our team is responsible for the online authorization and processing of ATM and Merchant Point of Sale acquired card transactions, ensuring they are validated and routed correctly to the issuer for approval.Additionally, we manage data and reporting for cardholder and merchant transaction settlement, delivering seamless and secure transaction processing for ANZ customers.In this role, you will liaise with both internal and external stakeholders to elicit, analyse, communicate, and validate business requirements.
You will work with both our delivery team and external vendor to build excellent solutions.

- What will your day look like?As a Senior Business Analyst, you will:Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements for card transactions, including VisaNet, MasterCard and NZ Domestic message protocols.Analyse and translate business needs into functional and non-functional requirements, working closely with development teams to ensure accurate implementation of requirements.Pro-actively identify gaps, opportunities or potential issues within the technology and business areas, promoting the change.Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including use cases, process flows, and data models.Support all stages of testing to ensure solutions meet business needs.Provide expertise and guidance on industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and the New Zealand domestic card transaction processing landscape.Act as a liaison between business units, technology teams, and external vendors.Understand and support card transaction settlement processing, ensuring our systems assist in accurate and timely settlement of transactions.Work with data requirements for transaction processing, ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance with relevant regulations.Utilise your knowledge of basic SQL queries for investigating issues and requirements.Assist in production incident resolution and problem management, ensuring timely and effective resolution of issues to minimize impact on business operations.Work in a cross-functional team, taking on a variety of analyst roles, and have the ability to flex between business and technical analysis.Ou Pukenga?
- What will you bring?To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Technology Business Analyst, preferably in Card Payment industry.Strong understanding of authorization and processing of ATM and POS-acquired card transactions and card industry message format protocols.Good knowledge of the New Zealand domestic card transaction processing landscape.Knowledge of card transaction settlement processing.Experience in data management for transaction processing, including data integrity, security, and compliance.Experience in writing and understanding SQL.Experience in incident resolution and problem management.Proficiency in business analysis tools and methodologies.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Experience in Agile and SDLC methods and techniques.Experience in requirements elicitation, requirements analysis, requirements management.He aha te take e uru ai koe ki a matou?
