Lecturer in IT Proj & Technical Comm ManagementListed 21 days AgoEducationThis is a full-time (37.5 hours) across Monday - Friday, 1 FTE permanent position.The appointing salary for this role will be between $74,400 and $97,700, dependent on skills and experience.The role will be based at Wintec Hamilton Campus.Key Responsibilities:Information Systems Strategy:Explore the management of information systems within corporate strategic plans. Teach policies for effective IS management, business case development, cost allocation, governance, and reporting. Discuss managing change, compliance, risk, and service quality while exploring the impact of emerging technologies like AI, IoT, and cloud on information systems.Business Intelligence:Instruct students on the significance of business intelligence, data mining, and data warehousing. Teach data analytics tools and strategies for leveraging big data to meet organizational goals.Communicating Technical Concepts in IT:Teach interpersonal communication theories and skills specific to IT. Emphasize technical writing, presentation skills, managing client relationships, and culturally responsive communication in technical contexts.Business Systems Analysis:Equip students with tools and methodologies for stakeholder engagement, needs assessment, and strategy development. Use SWOT analysis, risk analysis, and evaluation of IT solutions to address business challenges.Technical Engagement:Engage students with industry-standard tools such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Python. Apply these tools to teaching and research, including cloud-based solutions using AWS and Google Cloud. Stay current with AI ethics, data privacy, and algorithmic transparency innovations.Minimum Qualifications:Must hold or be actively working towards a Master's or PhD in Information Technology.PMP Trained.Minimum 3 years' experience.Professional Experience:Experience in Project Management as a Project Manager or Scrum Master, demonstrating Agile leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and project execution with value delivery.Familiarity with the software development life cycle (SDLC), systems integration, and data analytics platforms such as SQL, Tableau, and Alteryx.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students.Excellent organizational abilities to manage diverse coursework and student needs.Technical Skills:Proficiency in tools like Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, SharePoint, ALM, SQL, Alteryx, and MS Project.Expertise in business intelligence, with knowledge of data analytics and the evolution of Decision Support Systems to Business Intelligence using tools like Tableau and Power BI.Understanding of business analysis principles, including the application of BABoK (Business Analysis Body of Knowledge) standards.Applied knowledge of how various organisational functional units interact with IT and the principles of Agile methodologies, traditional Project Management, SCRUM, and KANBAN.Cultural Competency at Wintec Te Pukenga:At Wintec, we are committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment that upholds the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
