Carpentry & Cabinet Making (Trades & Services)About the roleWe are seeking an experienced Cabinetmaker/Joiner to join our team at Wood Design in Kerikeri, Northland. As a fulltime cabinetmaker, you will be responsible for crafting the unique pieces that make our projects stand out. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a modern well equipped workshop.What you'll be doingInterpreting design specifications to create custom cabinet and joinery items.Operating woodworking machinery and tools, including setting up, to fabricate precision cabinet components, these will include Homag laser edge bander, spindle moulder, Weinig Cube 4 sider, Martin panel saw, Homag BHX vertical machining center.Have the skills to machine and hand fabricate one off items, this will include feature range hoods, cornice moldings, solid timber feature bench tops, press up panel doors and special individual pieces.Collaborating with designers, project managers, and clients to ensure projects are delivered on time and to specificationMaintaining a clean, organised, and safe work environmentProviding guidance and mentorship to junior team membersWhat we're looking forFormal qualifications in cabinetmaking or joinery, or equivalent experienceExcellent woodworking skills and the ability to read and interpret technical drawingsStrong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality workExperience using a range of power tools and woodworking machineryGood communication and problem-solving skillsA keen eye for design and a desire to create beautiful, functional piecesA passion for great machines producing great work that we can all be proud of.Must have a pleasant can-do attitude to fit in with a like minded family team.What we offerAt Wood Design, we pride ourselves on creating a supportive and collaborative work environment where our team can thrive.
