Te Puni Kokiri is the government's principal policy advisor on Maori wellbeing and development.
We achieve strategic influence with a focus on providing high quality policy advice and holding other agencies to account for delivering public services to, for and with Maori.
This includes our mandate to promote Maori achievement in education, training, health and economic resource development along with performing our monitoring and mentoring roles.
We are looking for a Principal Advisor to advise and contribute to the background mahi we must do that enables us to succeed as a group.
We are looking for an experienced Principal Advisor to start with us in January 2025.Te whai wahitanga | The opportunityBased in Poneke | Wellington, the Finance, Property and Procurement Directorate has six key functions providing high level, specialised advice and support across Te Puni Kokiri.
The Principal Advisor supports this mahi throughProviding strategic, accurate advice and support to the General Manager, Finance, Property and Procurement as his trusted "right-hand" kaimahiContributing towards reporting for our Executive Leadership Team and providing advice and making recommendations to Deputy Secretaries, and Ministers as requiredCoaching and mentoring other kaimahi to increase their knowledge and grow their skill setLeading and managing projects, including risk analysis and reporting requirementsProviding timely support for Official information Act, Parliamentary Questions and other requests for information when required.The appointment range for this role is between $123,009 to $150,344 per annum and the salary will be determined based on the successful candidate's skills and experience.Mou | About youAs an experienced advisor, you bring specialist knowledge including leading budget processes, cost savings analysis and value add to your next position.
Politically savvy, you can easily adapt to change, and the pressures that come with the position.
