This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant contribution to our school's ongoing development and success.Key responsibilities:Curriculum Design and Implementation: Lead the design, development, and implementation of a future-focused curriculum that inspires and challenges our students and reflects the new curriculum expectations.Normal Schools Work: Play a key role in our Normal Schools programme, providing mentoring and support to trainee teachers, and fostering strong relationships with the University of Otago.Project-Based Learning (PBL): Champion PBL as a key pedagogical approach, leading the implementation and embedding of PBL across the school.Assessment: Oversee the development and implementation of effective assessment practices that support student learning and progress.Professional Development: Lead and facilitate professional learning opportunities for staff, ensuring a culture of continuous improvement.Remuneration:Full-time walking, but with some class cover to achieve the goals of the position.The successful candidate will have:A strong understanding of current educational research and best practice.Experience in curriculum design and implementation.A passion for mentoring and supporting trainee teachers.Expertise or a willingness to learn and lead Project-Based Learning.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.The successful applicant is expected to start at the beginning of term 1, 2025.
