You will provide accurate professional advice to applicants and the public, working efficiently and collaboratively to achieve quality outcomes.We have a number of exciting opportunities across the region:Senior Planners - apply your planning expertise to the assessment of resource consent applications and make recommendations that foster high quality outcomes. You will also attend Council hearings as a reporting officer and have opportunities to represent Council as an expert witness. You will assist your Team Leader with mentoring and developing junior planners and on occasions be a 2IC for your Team Leader and make decisions on resource consents. (4-7+ years' experience).Intermediate Planners - apply your planning expertise to the assessment of resource consent applications and make recommendations that foster high quality outcomes. You will also attend Council hearings as a reporting officer and may represent Council as an expert witness. (2-4 years' experience).Planners - apply your planning expertise to the assessment of resource consent applications and make recommendations that foster high quality outcomes. (0-2 years' experience).You will bring with you anywhere from graduate level to seven years+ of planning experience, and a tertiary qualification in urban planning, resource management or in a similar field preferably acknowledged by NZPI. With a strong working knowledge of the Resource Management Act 1991 and an awareness of the coming legislative changes, you will have a high level of customer service and collaboration skills with excellent case management, written and verbal communication.
