We want someone who will thrive in the fast-paced Mainfreight sales arena; candidates should ideally possess the following qualities, although we are prepared to invest in training for the right person:
Team player and long term 'career' focus Charisma and high energy as the role can be demanding High level of operational understanding Exceptional communication skills - not afraid to pick up the phone and express news, good or bad Ability to build and maintain relationships Meticulous and accurate approach to tasks; attention to detail is key Time management - have enough structure to get weekly admin tasks completed + ability to work to deadlines A passion for the business and the drive to take our team to new levels Willingness to learn the selling and operational processes The nous to use their initiative and support the team by being our rock in the office, the intermediary between the sales team on the road and the depot base
Professional conduct and presentation A competitive nature Passionate about a career in sales and the drive to take our team to new levels An indicative list of tasks and responsibilities at a high level include: Negotiating with shipping lines and other providers Customer Reports Respond to internal and external enquiries via email, phone and face to face Engaging with customers Operate internal computer functions required to perform daily tasks Providing support to the sales team on the road Sales is an excellent opportunity to get exposure to the many different touch points across the Supply Chain within Mainfreight. Especially for the right applicant, to forge their career in the group.
As part of a smaller regional team, the right applicant will be able to take on responsibility beyond the typical sales support function to develop them as a future sales powerhouse.
We want a career-oriented team member who is serious about helping to expand our brand. The hardest part might be taking the first step.
To be considered for this position, you must be a New Zealand citizen or resident and you will need to pass a Pre-Employment Background Check and Drug and Alcohol Test.
